Our Origin Story
Started by young people
bold enough to return home
Tony Buoi Sang Foundation began as a volunteer organisation of young Vietnamese with big ideals and aspirations. After studying or working abroad or in major cities, they chose to return home — even to remote and underdeveloped areas — to build businesses: processing agricultural products, developing tourism, and leveraging local culture, creating jobs for local communities.
A portion of their business profits is channelled into a shared fund, created and closely overseen by the members themselves. The fund provides monthly living allowances to orphaned children until they turn 18; each member is also a godparent — calling, visiting, and following every step of the child's growth.

Helping children stay in school until they can stand on their own
We help disadvantaged orphaned children across the nation continue their education through to adulthood. These children will grow up knowing the value of what they have, living responsibly, and becoming useful members of society — paying it forward to the next generation.
A consistent monthly allowance based on regional cost of living, education level, and the child's age.
Funds are transferred directly to the child's caregiver after thorough assessment and close ongoing supervision.
Continuous support until adulthood, so every child is strong enough to walk their own path confidently.

Formation & Development
From a small group of friends to a social enterprise
Five years of commitment — from 17 to 350 children supported in their education.
The Beginning
The precursor to the Fund was a group of young people formed to provide relief to Central Vietnam flood victims.
The Fund Logo is Born
The first visual identity — a rising sun and a figure reaching upward — officially debuts.
First 17 Children
A total of 17 orphaned children are accepted into the sponsorship programme — the first seeds of hope.
Building the Organisation
Five functional departments are established: Executive, Approval, Communications, Secretary, and Finance.
77 Children Supported
The total number of sponsored children grows to 77 in just one year.
227 Children
Dedicated Secretary and Communications staff added; total children sponsored reaches 227.
Becomes a Social Enterprise
Transitions from a volunteer group to a social enterprise model, launches a new brand identity, establishes Tony Buoi Sang Foundation JSC, and creates the Operations Department.
242 Children
Total sponsored children reaches 242 as the new model stabilises.
295 Children
The sponsorship network continues to expand, bringing the total children supported to 295.
350 Children · 73 Graduated
350 children currently sponsored nationwide; 73 have completed the full journey with the Fund.

Intake & Approval Process
Five rounds of review, one transparent list
Every application goes through five independent rounds before a child officially joins the Fund.
Application Intake
Orphan applications are received from referrers across the country.
Scoring & Ranking
Applications are scored, classified, and ranked against a published scoring rubric.
Field Survey & Interview
Shortlisted applications are assessed in person and the child/guardian is interviewed.
Approval Committee Meeting
The Approval Committee convenes to finalise the quarterly sponsored children list.
Executive Board Approval
The list is submitted to the Fund's Executive Board for formal approval.
